Adelaide Blackout – Tesla Backup Battery Kicks in Straight Away
Just weeks after installing a Tesla Powerwall 2 we got this email from a very happy customer:
“I thought you would like this iPhone screen snap during a blackout tonight. The battery kicked in immediately to power the home. Brilliant!”
We had installed the Tesla battery storage system on July 5 and the blackout occurred at 7.24pm on August 1. The battery storage system self-activated immediately and the householder was advised via the smartphone app.
Our customer lives in the city centre and took advantage of the City of Adelaide’s Sustainability Incentives Scheme, which offers up to $5000 to ratepayers putting in a battery storage system.
