Heat pumps are becoming an integral part of South Australia’s switch to household energy self-reliance.
Combined with rooftop solar and battery storage, a heat pump can wind your water heating costs all the way back to zero dollars. Yes, zero!
With traditional water heating systems, such as electricity and gas, accounting for up to 35 per cent of a household’s energy bill, the trend towards this new technology has gathered pace.
Sharpe Energy Hub is experiencing increasing demand for the EvoHeat Evo270 heat pump, which consumer opinion website ProductReview.com.au named as its 2020 hot water award winner.
The Evo270 was rated 4.8 out of five stars by consumers with such comments as “even better than expected” and “paying for itself in greatly reduced costs and zero carbon emissions”.
Heat pumps work by transferring the heat in the air outside the unit to the water stored inside through an exchange system. Basically it moves heat rather than generates heat and that is where the cost savings lie.
Traditional forms of water heating use 1kW of energy to produce a similar amount of heat, but the Evo270 generates a whopping 4kW of heat from just 1kW of energy.
Being registered with the Australian Federal Government Clean Energy Regulator as an energy efficient water heater means the Evo270 is also eligible for government rebates once installed.
The Evo270 has several market leading technologies that ensure it won’t leak refrigerant, is protected from any risk of bacteria, and will never freeze in extreme cold weather.
A Hydroboost feature ensures up to 105 litres of 60C hot water an hour, even when outside temperatures have plunged below zero.
Another clever feature is a “vacation mode”, which allows the Evo270 to be deactivated while the house is empty but programmed to ensure there is hot water when occupants return.
The Evo270 ticks all the boxes for low-cost, energy-efficient, environmentally-friendly hot water.
Sharpe Energy Hub’s in-house engineers and system designers are available now to analyse your home’s energy usage, then help you “own your energy”.
