An incredibly busy weekend at the Sunday Mail Home Show has left Energy Rating Systems in no doubt about the most important issue facing householders.

In an era of spiralling home energy bills, showgoers came to us looking for a way to make their daily lives “bill neutral”.

They’ve been overwhelmed by confusing advice by industry operators and came looking for clear and concise information.

Our message is the same as it always was: examine your household energy use, take a good hard look at the options available and then slash your running costs by employing the latest energy-saving technologies.

ERS has partnered with leading players in the energy industry to bring a range of the latest energy-saving technologies to your house.

We thank all the showgoers who spent time with us at the ERS stand at the Adelaide Showground. We are all travelling on a common journey.

Our consultants were also flat out at demonstrating to showgoers how they can take control of their home energy security.

The recent unprecedented statewide power blackout plus a statement from SA Power Networks that “Whether it is summer, winter, autumn or spring, we can’t guarantee there won’t be an event affecting supply” has focused the minds of many power consumers.

Star of the ERS stand was the StorEdge Inverter, which provides emergency backup day or night.

We demonstrated how coupling rooftop solar panels with a Tesla Powerwall and the StorEdge Inverter gives total peace of mind during power blackouts.

During an outage the StorEdge Inverter disconnects the house to make sure there is no excess power leaking to the grid. It then diverts the energy produced by the solar panels and battery to the desired loads in your home.

The StorEdge DC is simple to install and does not require any change to the cables from your rooftop panel array or household wiring. It is also compatible with Tesla’s Powerwall storage.

While this backup system won many fans at the show, it is just part of a suite of systems ERS can provide to help any household take charge of its energy use.

Spiralling utilities costs are a trend that shows no sign of easing but the good news is that energy efficient technologies are becoming more and more affordable as people around the world embrace the change.

South Australia has the highest penetration of rooftop solar in Australia and many are now looking at adding the latest appliances for heating and cooling to take full advantage of our sunny climate.

They understand that spending money today frees them from the vicious cycle of power bills that grow larger year by year.

ERS can talk through all the options with you. Call us on 1800 171 000 and let us help you take control of your world.
