Evaporative Cooling

The comfort you need using natural air and water.

Evaporative Cooling works on the same principle as a ducted cooling system. The cooling unit outside of the house has cooling pads that feds water from an internal water tank. The cool air gets pumped to a home when the fan draws air in through the wet cooling pads and it draws across the cool air throughout the house. Evaporative Cooling is the most common form of keeping an entire house cool and warming the rooms because of its incredibly low running costs, it’s affordable to run, and you can leave your doors and windows open. Evaporative cooling systems work the opposite way to a traditional air conditioning system. It uses fresh air to convert it to pure, 100% fresh, and clean quality air through your home every two minutes which can benefit asthma and hay fever sufferers.

Evaporative Cooling Systems

How do I choose?

The airflow, and size of the area you wish to cool, will be the largest determinants of which model is best suited to your needs. Whilst it may seem that bigger can only be better, a correctly sized air conditioner for your home will run far more efficiently, which equates to maximised electricity cost savings.

Is your home well insulated? This is a key consideration, as it impacts your home’s ability to maintain its temperature. A well insulated home may need a lower capacity unit, in comparison to a poorly insulated home.

What climate will your home operate in? The hotter the climate, the greater the demand on your air conditioning.

What additional benefits are important to you? Seeley International evaporative air conditioners offer additional technology benefits like winter seals, SuperStealth® fans, inverter motors, water savers, and architecturally designed units for greater aesthetic appeal.

At Shape Energy Hub, we understand that one Evaporative Cooling System does not fit all homes. It is for this reason that we analyse your ducted evaporative air conditioning requirements to engineer an Intelligent Energy Efficient Ducted Evaporative A/C system that will run effectively with minimal costs.

Find the right model to cover your temperature needs by choosing from our major brand Seeley International, including: Braemar, Coolair, Breezair and Climate Wizard.

Evaporative air conditioning is better for you. Here’s why:

• Evaporative air conditioners continually cool and deliver 100% fresh, filtered, OUTSIDE AIR, whereas reverse cycle air conditioners re-circulate air that you’ve all been breathing and living in for hours, and maybe days. This re-circulated air contributes to a build-up of CO2 in the home and CO2 is known to have an adverse effect on human health and well-being.

• Evaporative air conditioning naturally moisturises the air so NO-ONE suffers from the dryness caused by reverse cycle air conditioning.

Why Would I Need an Evaporative Air Conditioning System?

An evaporative air conditioning is very suited to the dry climate of the southern states of Australia and will provide relief cooling in humid regions. These units are very suited to the Australian lifestyle as it is much cheaper to run than other systems. Evaporative air conditioners cool by nature’s very own method of evaporation and can be likened to a sea breeze. Hot outside air is drawn through water moistened filters, this air absorbs moisture through evaporation, on a ducted system, this air is blown through ducts and outlets to most rooms of a home. This moist cool air absorbs heat from the rooms and the air must be expelled through an open door or window in each room there is an air outlet or vent.

Energy Efficiency: Evaporative cooling system provides exceptional cooling while utilising the minimal amount of energy that is less than a full size refrigerator. It offers a long term cost effective solution as it has low running costs.

Natural Airflow: Evaporative air conditioning uses fresh air to cool a home as it doesn’t recycle unwanted stale air, unlike other air conditioning systems. It allows the natural outdoor breeze to your home as you can leave windows and doors open.

Environmental and allergy friendly: Evaporative air conditioning runs using water and fresh air hence, it doesn’t rely on refrigerants or chemical pollutants making it a better option as it is environmental and allergen friendly. It won’t dry out your eyes or skin or any nasty dust and allergens.
